These terms and conditions explain how to use the Kent Car Keys website and what to expect when enquiring about or arranging our mobile car key services. They should be read alongside the quotation and any specific details agreed for your job. Nothing here removes your statutory consumer rights.
Use these details for questions, cancellations, changes to an appointment or complaints. If your appointment is imminent, calling gives us the best chance to update the arrangements in time. The postal address is a contact address, not a promise of a walk-in service.
Our website forms request an enquiry, rather than completing an online purchase or guaranteeing a booking. Sending a form does not confirm that we can attend, that a particular key or repair is suitable, or that you must buy a service.
Tell us the vehicle make, model and year, the key or fob problem and the vehicle’s location. We will discuss the work we can offer and the price or pricing basis before you decide whether to proceed. Capability, parts and availability depend on the particular vehicle and job.
A service arrangement is made when you and Kent Car Keys agree the work and we confirm acceptance of the booking or instruction. Check the quotation and tell us if any details are wrong. A written quotation or confirmation records the specific scope, price and arrangements for that job. We will provide the legally required contract information and confirmation in a form you can keep, where applicable.
The agreed quotation will explain the price or how it will be calculated, including any applicable tax, parts, attendance or diagnostic work. Payment timing and the payment methods available will be explained before you agree to the work. No additional work or charge should be added without your agreement.
If inspection reveals a different fault or extra work is needed, we will explain the change and seek your agreement before proceeding with that extra work. An estimate based on incomplete vehicle details may need to be revised before you accept the final work and price.
There is no cancellation fee. This does not remove payment due for work or goods already supplied with your agreement, subject to your statutory rights. Our website enquiry forms do not currently take a deposit or payment. If online deposits are introduced, the payment and refund terms will be explained before any deposit is taken.
You must own the vehicle or have the owner’s permission to authorise the requested work. We may ask for reasonable evidence of identity and entitlement before accessing a vehicle, supplying a key or carrying out security-related work. If we cannot establish authority, we may decline the work.
Please give accurate information about the vehicle and known faults, previous key or lock work and any relevant modifications. Arrange safe, lawful access to the vehicle and tell us about restrictions, hazards or parking requirements before attendance. We will discuss any additional arrangements or costs before you agree to them.
We will explain relevant limitations or risks identified before the work. Existing vehicle, lock, electrical or immobiliser faults can affect the options available. This does not exclude responsibility for damage or loss for which we are legally responsible.
We will agree attendance arrangements with you. Any estimated arrival or completion time depends on travel, access, parts and the work found to be necessary. We do not promise a fixed response time through this website. Tell us promptly if the vehicle moves or your circumstances change.
If we need to change an appointment or cannot carry out the agreed work, we will contact you to discuss the available options. Where no completion time has been agreed, services must be carried out within a reasonable time. Any refund or other remedy due will be handled in accordance with your legal rights.
You can ask to cancel or reschedule by telephone, email, post or the contact form. Please provide your name, vehicle or booking details and the appointment date. You do not have to use a particular form. We do not charge a cancellation fee.
Consumers may also have a statutory cooling-off right when a contract is agreed online, by telephone or away from business premises. For a service contract, this is normally 14 days beginning the day after the contract is made, subject to the contract type and statutory exceptions. Goods contracts normally have a cancellation period linked to delivery, with exceptions that can include goods made to your specifications. The rights that apply depend on the actual contract; we will explain any relevant exception before you commit.
If you want services to start during an applicable cooling-off period, we must obtain your express request before starting and provide the required information. If you then cancel, payment for the proportion of services supplied is only due where the legal conditions for that payment have been met. A service cancellation right is lost after full performance during the period only where you expressly requested early performance and acknowledged that the right would be lost when the service was completed.
A limited statutory exception can apply where you specifically request a visit for urgent repairs or maintenance. It does not automatically cover every locksmith booking, extra services or goods beyond replacement parts necessarily used for that urgent work. We will not treat an ordinary website enquiry as a waiver of cancellation rights or as an express request to start immediately.
If you validly exercise a statutory cancellation right, any refund due will be made within the legal time limit, normally within 14 days of being told of the cancellation, subject to the rules for returning goods and any lawful payment for services already supplied.
You may copy the following wording into an email or letter, but you can also cancel by any other clear statement:

We must carry out services with reasonable care and skill. Goods we supply must meet the applicable legal requirements, including satisfactory quality, fitness for an agreed purpose and matching their description. Important information about the service that you rely on may form part of the contract.
If something is wrong, contact us and explain the problem so we can investigate. Depending on the circumstances, your rights may include repeat performance, repair, replacement, a price reduction or a refund. Any separate guarantee offered for a particular job will be explained in its own terms and will be additional to your statutory rights. This page does not promise a fixed warranty period.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability or consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

You can find independent information about consumer rights at GOV.UK consumer protection rights. Making a complaint to us does not prevent you from seeking advice or using any legal remedy available to you.
Use the website lawfully. Do not try to disrupt it, gain unauthorised access or submit misleading or harmful content. Website information gives general guidance; vehicle-specific advice and the agreed quotation determine the work offered. External websites have their own terms.
Our privacy policy explains how enquiry and service information is handled. Our cookie policy explains optional tracking choices. Sending an enquiry or agreeing to work does not mean you have accepted optional tracking cookies.
We may update these terms for future arrangements and show the revision date above. An update does not retrospectively change an existing agreed contract. English law applies, while any mandatory consumer protections and rights to bring proceedings in the courts available to you remain unaffected.
